Monitoring Well Locations

This aerial image shows the Appleton campus in Cecil County and highlights Gore’s environmental monitoring efforts — specifically tracking groundwater near the site:

  • Shallow Monitoring Well: These wells are installed near the surface to test groundwater for PFOA and related PFAS substances that may be present in upper soil or water layers.
  • Deep Monitoring Well: These wells extend further underground to detect potential contaminants in deeper groundwater or bedrock-level aquifers.
  • Property Lines: Outlined boundaries show the official footprint of Gore’s Appleton Campus, helping clarify which wells are on-site versus adjacent.
