Fair Hill Monitoring Wells Installation

In November 2024, Gore submitted a work plan to install five shallow overburden monitoring wells, two deeper bedrock wells, an aquifer test well, and 3 stream gauges on the Fair Hill property. The MDE approved the work plan and monitoring well drilling began in early November.  Once the wells are installed, an Aquifer Pumping Test will be conducted to determine aquifer characteristics. These monitoring wells will be regularly sampled and the samples submitted for laboratory analysis. The wells will also be gauged to construct groundwater elevation contour maps. All this information will be added to the current data set and guide next steps in this investigation.
